I’ve tried many restaurants and bars in my travels and the only way to truly compare food I ate or drank to any of them is by simply “experiencing” it. I mean, I’m a big fan of the food that tastes like it was born in the kitchen. I want to eat it. I want to enjoy it. I want to savor it.

That’s why I’m a big fan of watermen’s bar and grill. They don’t just throw delicious food out on the table with a lot of attitude. If they are not eating it, they are not eating it. They are eating it with no complaint. They are eating it for the joy of the taste, and for the thought that the food is made with care and love. They are eating it for the pleasure of not being judged.

But that’s exactly what one chef is trying to change with a new restaurant that opened just a couple of blocks from his studio this week, the Watermen’s Bar and Grill. The Watermen’s is a place that’s been around for a long time, but the chef has taken it to a whole new level.
The Watermens is basically a diner. The menu, which includes some of the same dishes that are used in a lot of restaurants, features mostly seafood and vegetarian dishes. There is also a small patio of varying sizes for dining in. Watermen also has a good beer selection, plus a couple of wine selections.
