Ben gravy, a.k.a. Benji, is a surfboard that comes to life when you play Deathloop. I’ve been playing Deathloop for a little over a week now, and I’m just so grateful that this is where it’s heading. Ben gravy’s a surfboard that can make you surf or float or fly or whatever you want.
All this talk of surfboards leads us back to Benji, a young dude who has been stuck on Blackreef for some time. If you scroll through the trailer, you’ll see Benji’s face morph into a surfboard. This is an example of what is essentially a meta-function. You can do something on the surface of your page, and the page will respond in a way that reflects the idea of that function.
You can see this in action in the video, and the thing is, Benji was using his surfboard to try to escape the island. That’s all fine and dandy, but Benji’s surfboard can also be used to make a move on the island. This is a meta-function, but the problem is it’s only a function.
That is a great meta-function to have. But I think that if you have more than one meta-function, then it is a problem. Because when you try to do something that isn’t a function, then you lose the benefit of having that meta-function. I think that this is one of the most important meta-functions. That is how the page that you want to surf the ocean on will respond.
